- Leather uphostery is like your own skin. If you want to look great with age, you must maintain its appearance with regular cleaning and moisturizing.
- Refer to the care label attached to your upholstered furniture for additional information.
- Where possible, rotate the cushions to even the wear.
- To ensure warranty validity, use only leather care products cleaning product every 8-12 weeks.
- Avoid placing the leather near direct light or heat sources as they can fade and damage the leather. In extreme climates you will need to moisturize the leather more often.
- Water based stains will leave a mark if allowed to soak in.
- Food oils can permanently bond with the leather unless cleaned immediately.
- Body oils can oxidize and change the color of the leather. Special care is also required if the user of the sofa is taking medication.
- Dirt and grime can act as abrasives on leather. Vaccum regularly with a soft uphostery attachment. Wipe over the leather with a damp, soft, clean cloth weekly.
Fabric upholstery
- Dirt combined with body moisture can produce a grime discoloration to the fabric.
- Vacuum regularly with a soft upholstery attachment. Vacuuming will also remove grit that can also wear away the fabric.
- Avoid placing the fabric near direct sunlight or heat sources as they can fade and damage the fabric. Use window coverings (e.g. curtains and blinds) to protect your furniture from direct sunlight through windows.
